The Azraq oasis is 130 km east of Amman It extends to the edge of a basaltic lava flow
a limestone area and a small alluvial basin salt-laden. It contains a natural r serve of 100 km2.
Its castle was built of large blocks of basalt
Roman times to defend this importantpoint of
water and one to control pathwaysof invasion of Greatr Syria by the desert
tribes.He was also he headquarters of Lawrence of Arabia and King
